Virgin is headed for Dover

Virgin Voyages has announced that Dover will be the first ever port of call for its epic Scarlet Lady cruise ship.

In February 2020 the White Cliffs of Dover with be adorned with a dash of red as Scarlet Lady visits the coastal city as her first port of call.

The exciting news was revealed by Spice Girl Geri Halliwell at a press conference in London and celebrated at a star studded party, which showcased a taste of Virgin Voyages’ signature Scarlet Night on-board events.

After Scarlet Lady leaves the Fincantieri shipyard in Genoa (Italy), next year she will set sail first to the Port of Dover where she will be hosting a number of exclusive events for First Mates, media and VIPs.

Virgin Voyages is on a mission to redefine a sea vacation and create an “Epic Sea Change For All”. Inspired by the Modern Romance of Sailing Virgin has dreamed up eye-catching, intimate and alluring spaces that are well-styled, distinct and reflective of the dynamic experience the company wants to bring. Scarlet Lady will also feature venues which are not normally found abord a cruise ship. These include a record shop and a tattoo studio.

Vigin Voyages’ flagship will also be one of the cleanest ships on the ocean by installing technologies which will significantly reduce carbon dioxide emissions and reduce ocean discharge. Virgin furthermore promises a tree-free and plastic free experience on board its ships.
