Silver Spirit emerges 49ft longer and greatly enhanced

Having been cut in half, lengthened with the insertion of a pre-built section and renovated extensively, Silversea’s Silver Spirit has left the Fincantieri Shipyard in Palermo bigger and better than ever before.

Roughly 1,000 skilled workers spent 59 days and approximately 450,000 hours to ensure the complex lengthening and refurbishment project’s punctual completion. Approximately 846 tons of steel, 360,892 ft. of cabling and 26,247 ft. of piping have been put to use in the lengthening of Silver Spirit. As a result Spirit is now 49ft (14,9m) longer than she was when she was constructed in 2009.

With the aim of amplifying the 608 guests’ onboard experience in line with the successful design of Silversea’s flagship, Silver Muse, the lengthening project has brought the ship to an exceptional standard.

Stylish décor enhancements bring superlative comfort and a sense of spaciousness to public areas, the suites and the enlarged pool deck.

A new eight-restaurant arrangement offers increased dining options – with the introduction of Spaccanapoli, Silver Note, Atlantide, and Indochine, as well as the renovation of La Terrazza. A number of new amenities have upgraded the onboard offering, including the Arts Café, Tor’s Observation Library, the Zagara Spa, the Panorama Lounge and the chic Dolce Vita lounge.
