When a Perla takes over from a Prima…

Last week German cruise line AIDA Cruises presented its new travel catalog for the 2017-2018 cruise season.

Following the successful launch of AIDAprima, in 2017 AIDA Cruises will be welcoming her twin ship, AIDAperla, as the twelfth member of the fleet.aida-perla

From September 1, 2017, AIDAperla will be setting sail on four different routes to the pearls of the Mediterranean.

The capital of the Germans’ favorite island, Palma de Mallorca, and Barcelona are the start and end ports for the seven-day “Pearls of the Mediterranean 1 & 2” cruises. On these cruises, apart from Majorca and Barcelona, AIDAperla will be making stops at the island of Corsica, Florence/Livorno and Rome/Civitavecchia.

Culture lovers in particular will enjoy the “Pearls of the Mediterranean 3 & 4” cruises. Apart from Florence/Livorno and Rome/Civitavecchia, these cruises will also visit Marseilles where AIDAperla will dock for one night. These cruises likewise begin in Palma de Mallorca and end in Barcelona.

In its new catalog the company also provides readers with a foretaste of summer 2018. From March 2018 AIDAperla – AIDA Cruises’ latest member of the fleet – will set sail in Germany for the first time. The Hanseatic City of Hamburg will be the start and end point of seven-day round trips to the most beautiful metropolises in Western Europe such as London (Southampton), Paris (Le Havre), Brussels (Zeebrugge) or Rotterdam.

In early 2018 AIDAprima will switch from the Canary Islands to the Western Mediterranean and, like its younger sister has already done, will be setting out on seven-day cruises on a course for the pearls of the Mediterranean.
