Holland America Line teams up with Australian Kookaburras and Hockeyroos

Holland America Line has formed an exclusive partnership with Hockey Australia to expand awareness of cruising among Australia’s hundreds of thousands of hockey fans.

Having recently become the exclusive partner of the Professional Pickleball Association, Holland America Line has now become the exclusive cruise line and official partner of Hockey Australia. At the same time the cruise line is also a major supporting partner of the Kookaburras, the Australian men’s national field hockey team, and Hockeyroos, the Australian women’s national field hockey team.

This commitment will open up new awareness for cruising and the appeal of Holland America Line among the fans and players of hockey. The Holland America Line logo will feature prominently on the side panels of the Kookaburras and Hockeyroos playing shirts amid a range of other partner benefits.

Hockey Australia CEO David Pryles said securing a company of Holland America Line’s caliber and reputation was a significant coup. “Similarly, to Holland America Line, hockey in Australia has a proud and successful history built on excellence,” said Pryles. “We are delighted to welcome Holland America Line into our suite of corporate partners and to have them aligned with our iconic national teams.

“The Kookaburras and Hockeyroos travel to many parts of the world to compete, and with hockey being such a popular global sport, we look forward to helping grow the awareness of Holland America Line and its range of destinations and international routes.”

For Holland America Line, the partnership with Hockey Australia stems from an eagerness to increase their brand awareness and align with hockey as a trusted brand.

“We are extremely proud of our rich Dutch history at Holland America Line that began 150 years ago” said Ryan Taibel, VP of sales and marketing at Holland America Line Australia. “Our partnership with the Kookaburras and Hockeyroos is a further extension of this, with hockey being one of the most competitive and widely played games in the Netherlands.

“At Holland America Line, we are excited to partner with these elite hockey teams and athletes and support them as they compete across the globe flying the Australian flag. We look forward to sharing in their ongoing successes as they help us in raising awareness for Holland America Line as one of the world’s great cruise companies.”

As part of the agreement, Holland America Line also will provide exclusive offers to the Australian hockey community and experiences on board Westerdam and Noordam, which are based in Australia over the local cruise season from November through March.
