Wallace & Gromit and Shaun the Sheep to set sail with P&O Cruises on Iona

P&O Cruises is partnering with Aardman, the creators of Wallace & Gromit and Shaun the Sheep, to bring a range of character-based activities for all generations to newest ship Iona.

Britain’s favourite cruise line P&O Cruises and Aardman have joined forces to further enhance the wide range of fun for families aboard Iona. The addition of Wallace & Gromit and Shaun the Sheep will allow everyone to have the time of their lives whilst relaxing, recharging, making memories and spending quality time together while spending their vacation at sea.

Children in The Reef clubs will be able to participate in themed dance classes and craft workshops where they can make Gromit ears or Shaun the Sheep masks. All the family can then come together for quality time to enjoy special screenings of the Wallace & Gromit and Shaun the Sheep films in the cinema, or have photos taken with the eccentric inventor Wallace and his loyal friend Gromit at special character appearances.

P&O Cruises president Paul Ludlow commented: “It’s not easy finding a holiday that caters to everyone’s needs and when you’re travelling with children, your happiness is linked to theirs.”

All activities are included in the cost of the holiday and guests can find further details on board.

The LNG-powered Iona offers 30 bars and restaurants with many new speciality dining options including tapas from award-winning Spanish chef José Pizarro paired with wines selected by Olly Smith and a new Chef’s Table menu from Marco Pierre White. Entertainment venues include the first “SkyDome” – an extraordinary glass structure which will be a relaxed poolside environment by day and then transform at night into a spectacular venue with DJs, stage and aerial acrobatic shows.

Iona also features the first gin still on a cruise ship, created in association with Salcombe Gin, distilling tailor made spirit on board. The gin’s maiden production will take place in Iona’s custom-made still named “Columba” and will be distilled, bottled and labelled on board.
