VARD delivers expedition ship Coral Geographer

Vard, the subsidiary of Fincantieri, one of the major global shipbuilders of specialized vessels, has delivered Coral Geographer to the Australian company Coral Expeditions.

Australia’s pioneering expedition cruise line, Coral Expeditions, is continuing to expand their Australian-flagged fleet with the addition of Coral Geographer.

Coral Geographer is the sister ship to Coral Adventurer which was delivered in 2019.

Coral Geographer has been specially tailored for personalized expedition cruises to remote and exotic destinations in Asia and Oceania. The ship has been built at Vard Vung Tau shipyard in
Vietnam and is 93.7 meters long with accommodation on board for 120 guests.

True to the Coral Expeditions’ product requirements in the Australian market, the onboard environment is finished to a high standard of comfort. In response to market demand, the new ship offers an increased proportion of bridge deck suites – up from 2 to 6 large suites – all featuring horizon bathtubs. Coral Geographer is designed with 2 unique “Xplorer” fast safari boats, 8 zodiacs, shallow draft and active stabilisers to take guests further and in comfort.

Coral Geographer’s maiden voyage will start from Cairns, Queensland, at the end of March.
