A new reason to make a splash in the Bahamas has arrived. Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) has celebrated the opening of its all-new Great Tides Waterpark on Great Stirrup Cay, the cruise line’s 270-acre private island destination in the Bahamas.

Four Areas, Plenty of Ways to Cool Off
At nearly six acres, Great Tides Waterpark adds a major new attraction to Great Stirrup Cay, giving visitors even more ways to spend their day on the island. The waterpark combines high-speed slides and cliff jumps with family-friendly splash areas and a relaxing river experience.
Tidal Tower
Standing 170 feet tall, Tidal Tower is the centerpiece of the waterpark. It features eight slides, including Tropic Spiral, the world’s first Nautilus slide, with large spirals designed to send riders spinning in different directions.
Another highlight is Breakwater Blasters, billed as the Caribbean’s first dueling Master Blaster slides. Riders race through twists, drops and uphill sections propelled by high-pressure water jets.
Cliffside Cove
For travelers looking for an adrenaline rush, Cliffside Cove delivers with Cliffside Leap, featuring cliff jumps from heights of 10 and 15 feet.
There is also The Great Slide, described as the Caribbean’s only family slide that allows four people to ride together, while The Fearless Falls sends riders down from five feet above the water.
Wandering River
Those who prefer a more leisurely experience can head to the more than 800-foot-long Wandering River. The attraction features an immersive tunnel and Floataway Bar, a swim-up bar located alongside the river.
Splash Cay
Families can head to Splash Cay, which offers more than 9,000 square feet of water-based fun. Highlights include a 300-gallon tipping bucket, eight mini-slides and a variety of interactive water features.
More than just a waterpark
Great Tides Waterpark is the latest addition to NCL’s ongoing investment in Great Stirrup Cay. The island already offers a range of experiences for families, couples, solo travelers and those simply looking to spend a day surrounded by white-sand beaches and turquoise waters.
The new Great Life Lagoon features an expansive pool area with two swim-up bars, private cabanas and complimentary loungers and umbrellas. Families can also cool off at Splash Harbor, a complimentary splash pad located close to the pool and refreshments.
For a more exclusive experience, guests can purchase a day pass to the adults-only Vibe Shore Club, with premium loungers, cabanas and a dedicated bar. At Silver Cove, visitors can rent an air-conditioned villa, purchase a day pass or book a treatment at Silver Cove Spa.
And for those who would rather stay active, snorkeling gear and paddle boards are available to rent, while excursions include the chance to zipline from the island’s iconic Flighthouse.
Visiting Great Stirrup Cay
Travelers can visit Great Stirrup Cay year-round, with cruises sailing seasonally from convenient homeports including New York and Philadelphia, as well as Miami, Tampa, Orlando (Port Canaveral) and Jacksonville in Florida.
Guests can purchase a pass to Great Tides Waterpark by logging into their myNCL account after completing their cruise reservation. Admission starts at $99 per person, with pricing varying by sailing and availability.
