Disney Cruise Line is heading back to New York City. The Disney Wish will return to the city in September 2027, marking the cruise line’s first New York season since 2023 and forming one of the highlights of its newly announced Fall 2027 and Spring 2028 schedule.
The new itineraries stretch well beyond New York. Disney is adding more departures from San Juan, Puerto Rico, introducing maiden calls in Panama and expanding its sailing options from Florida, California and Texas. In Southeast Asia, the Disney Adventure will continue its Singapore program with new shorter itineraries.
For travelers, the biggest change is the choice of departure points and destinations. There are autumn cruises along the northeastern coast, longer Panama Canal voyages, Southern Caribbean itineraries and a larger selection of cruises from Port Canaveral.
New York Returns to the Disney Cruise Map
The Disney Wish will arrive in New York in late September 2027 after spending the summer sailing in Europe.
Seven cruises are planned from the city, ranging from four to seven nights. Bermuda is the main draw on five of them, with three itineraries allowing an additional day on the island.
The ship will also head north during the autumn, calling at Boston, St. John in New Brunswick and Halifax, Nova Scotia. For passengers interested in seeing New England and Canada’s Atlantic coast at the height of fall, the timing is particularly appealing.
It is also a different proposition from Disney’s more familiar Caribbean itineraries: instead of tropical beaches, passengers will be sailing through one of North America’s classic autumn landscapes.
San Juan Gets a Bigger Role
Puerto Rico is another key part of the new schedule. After sailing from New York to San Juan via Bermuda, the Disney Wish will embark on a seven-night Southern Caribbean itinerary calling at Aruba, St. Maarten, Bonaire and Dominica.
The Disney Fantasy will add more options later in the season. A seven-night Southern Caribbean sailing is scheduled for December 2027, followed by a five-night Eastern Caribbean cruise ending in Fort Lauderdale.
The ship will return to San Juan in late April and May 2028 for two further seven-night Southern Caribbean voyages. Curaçao, Bonaire, Barbados and Antigua are among the ports on these itineraries.
For anyone looking beyond the standard Bahamas and short Caribbean cruise, the San Juan departures are among the more interesting additions to the schedule.
Two Long Panama Canal Voyages
The Disney Magic is taking a longer route through Central America. In November 2027, the ship will leave San Diego for a 14-night voyage to Galveston, crossing the Panama Canal and making a maiden call at Fuerte Amador, near Panama City.
The return journey comes in March 2028, when the Disney Magic will sail from Galveston to San Diego. This 14-night westbound itinerary includes another first-time call, at Colón, Panama, on the Caribbean side of the canal.
These are repositioning cruises rather than conventional round-trip vacations, but that is part of their appeal. The longer format gives passengers considerably more time onboard while adding destinations that don’t feature on Disney’s shorter itineraries.
Port Canaveral Gets Three Wish Class Ships
Florida remains the center of Disney Cruise Line’s operation, and from November 2027 three Wish Class ships will be based at Port Canaveral.
The Disney Destiny will move to Port Canaveral for the first time, operating three- to seven-night cruises to The Bahamas and the Western Caribbean. Before that, it will begin the fall season from Fort Lauderdale.
The Disney Wish will return to Port Canaveral after its New York and San Juan cruises. Its three- and four-night Bahamas itineraries will include visits to Disney’s two island destinations, Castaway Cay and Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point.
The Disney Treasure will stick with seven-night Eastern and Western Caribbean cruises, including Tortola and Falmouth. It also has an eight-night Eastern Caribbean itinerary and a six-night Bahamas cruise with two stops at Castaway Cay.
The Disney Dream will continue with shorter Bahamas cruises before moving to Fort Lauderdale in November 2027. The Disney Fantasy, meanwhile, will spend part of the season in Port Canaveral before heading to San Juan and then Fort Lauderdale.
One of the more unusual Fantasy itineraries will be an eight-night Bermuda cruise from Fort Lauderdale, combining Bermuda with visits to Disney’s Bahamian island destinations.
California and Texas Keep Their Place
Disney’s West Coast operation is also set to remain busy. The Disney Magic and Disney Wonder will start Fall 2027 in San Diego, sailing three- to seven-night itineraries along the Baja and Mexican Riviera coasts.
The Disney Wonder will stay in San Diego into Spring 2028, with cruises calling at Ensenada, Cabo San Lucas and Catalina Island.
The Disney Magic will take a very different route after its Panama Canal crossing, moving to Galveston for four- to seven-night cruises. Some seven-night Bahamas itineraries from Texas will visit both Castaway Cay and Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point.
Disney Adventure Stays in Singapore
The Disney Adventure will continue its Singapore-based program, with three- and four-night cruises scheduled from September through December 2027.
There is also a new port on selected sailings beginning December 31, 2026: Langkawi, Malaysia.
The Malaysian island brings a change of scenery from the ship’s onboard entertainment, with rainforests and a scenic coastline to explore during the port visit.
Halloween and Christmas Return
Disney’s seasonal cruises are also back on the calendar. Halloween on the High Seas begins in September 2027, bringing themed entertainment, character appearances, deck parties and trick-or-treating to selected sailings.
From November, the focus shifts to Christmas with Very Merrytime Cruises. Expect the usual combination of festive decorations, tree-lighting ceremonies, seasonal treats, deck parties and visits from Santa.
