Crystal has confirmed that the construction contract with Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri for a third ocean ship has officially entered into force. Scheduled for delivery in May 2034, the new vessel will become the third newbuild ship in the luxury cruise line’s ambitious fleet expansion plans.
The new ship will join Crystal Grace, currently under construction and set to make her debut in 2028, as well as her sister ship scheduled to enter service in May 2031.
Like the two earlier newbuild ships, the third vessel will measure approximately 62,000 gross tons and accommodate 650 guests based on double occupancy. Guests will enjoy spacious suites with private verandas, including an expansive Owner’s Suite. Crystal will also introduce new suite categories designed to meet evolving guest preferences, including the growing demand from solo travellers. With one of the highest crew-to-guest ratios in the luxury cruise sector, Crystal will continue to deliver the personalised service for which the brand is renowned.
The ship’s design will combine timeless elegance with modern innovation. It will feature expansive indoor and outdoor spaces, as well as a promenade deck extending fully around the vessel, inspired by Crystal Symphony and Crystal Serenity. Guests will also enjoy a variety of open-air venues and terraces where they can dine outdoors while taking in panoramic ocean views.
According to Executive Chairman Manfredi Lefebvre d’Ovidio, the third newbuild reflects Crystal’s confidence in the future of the brand. The successful progress of Crystal Grace and the continued strong interest in the new ships provide further encouragement for the company to keep investing in the next generation of luxury cruising.
