Norwegian Cruise Line Enhances Wellness on Norwegian Jade and Norwegian Gem

Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) has completed a series of enhancements aboard Norwegian Jade and Norwegian Gem, introducing new wellness facilities, upgraded public spaces and additional adults-only areas. The refurbishment brings several of the cruise line’s most popular onboard concepts to both ships while creating a more consistent guest experience across the fleet.

The improvements focus on wellness, relaxation and outdoor living, with redesigned Thermal Suites in the Mandara Spa & Salon, the introduction of the adults-only Vibe Beach Club on both vessels and a new Starbucks location aboard Norwegian Jade.

“Listening to our guests and delivering exceptional experiences across our fleet is at the heart of what we do,” says Marc Kazlauskas, President of Norwegian Cruise Line. “These recent transformations bring some of our most popular amenities to Norwegian Jade and Norwegian Gem, creating greater consistency across the fleet while giving guests more opportunities to personalise their holiday. From adults-only outdoor retreats to peaceful wellness spaces, the enhancements are designed to help guests relax and enjoy their time at sea.”

Expanded Wellness Facilities at the Mandara Spa

One of the most significant upgrades can be found inside the Mandara Spa & Salon, where both ships now feature extensively redesigned Thermal Suites based on guest feedback.

The refreshed wellness areas now include three times more heated tile loungers than before, alongside a redesigned reception area, upgraded steam rooms and modernised saunas. Several new wellness concepts have also been introduced, including a charcoal sauna, which uses radiant heat technology, an ice room designed to stimulate circulation, a salt room for relaxation and respiratory wellbeing, and Four-Senses loungers that combine multiple sensory elements to create a calming environment.

Guests can also access an IV Lounge, reflecting the growing popularity of wellness therapies designed to support hydration and recovery during a cruise holiday.

While both ships share many of these new facilities, each vessel also offers unique features. Norwegian Jade introduces experiential showers with multiple water settings and lighting effects, together with a plunge pool designed for cold-water immersion following heat treatments. Norwegian Gem, meanwhile, now features an upgraded whirlpool and an enhanced thalassotherapy pool, combining massage jets, bubble loungers and counter-current systems for a relaxing hydrotherapy experience.

Adults-Only Vibe Beach Club Arrives on Both Ships

Another major addition is the introduction of the adults-only Vibe Beach Club aboard both Norwegian Jade and Norwegian Gem. Located on Deck 14, the new outdoor retreat transforms the existing sundeck into an exclusive relaxation area reserved for adult guests.

The redesigned space features panoramic ocean views, a private full-service bar, an additional hot tub, more than fifty premium loungers and seven private cabanas, creating a quieter alternative to the ship’s main pool areas for guests seeking a more peaceful atmosphere.

New Starbucks for Norwegian Jade

As part of the refurbishment, Norwegian Jade also welcomes a licensed Starbucks outlet located in the ship’s atrium. Guests can enjoy the same handcrafted coffees, teas, seasonal beverages and light snacks available in Starbucks cafés around the world, further expanding the onboard dining and refreshment options.

Norwegian Cruise Line was the first cruise line to introduce Starbucks across its entire fleet and private destinations, and the addition aboard Norwegian Jade completes this offering for the ship.

Updated Ships Continue Sailing Worldwide

The newly enhanced ships are already operating across several of Norwegian Cruise Line’s most popular regions.

Throughout the summer season, Norwegian Jade offers seven-night Alaska cruises between Vancouver and Whittier (Anchorage), including scenic cruising through the Inside Passage and visits to ports such as Ketchikan, Juneau, Skagway and Icy Strait Point. Later in the year, the ship returns to Asia for a series of longer itineraries exploring some of the region’s most sought-after destinations.

Meanwhile, Norwegian Gem spends the summer sailing through the Mediterranean and the Greek Islands, with departures from Rome (Civitavecchia) and Ravenna (Venice). The itineraries include ports such as Cannes, Livorno, Split, Dubrovnik and several Greek islands before the ship repositions to Tampa for Caribbean and Bahamas cruises during the winter season.
