Emerald Cruises has celebrated another important milestone with the ceremonial launch of Emerald Lumi. The newest Emerald Star-Ship has entered the water for the first time at the shipyard in Romania, bringing its inaugural Seine River season in 2027 one step closer.

Elisabeth Sadler, Vice President Product, River Cruises, Scenic Group: “Emerald Lumi’s water launch is an exciting step in bringing a fresh style of river cruising to the Seine. By combining extended overnight stays in key ports with curated local history and culinary experiences, plus a choice of active EmeraldACTIVE excursions, this new itinerary offers a more immersive, unhurried way to explore northern France than many traditional river itineraries.”

Relaxed Luxury on the Seine
Purpose-built for the Seine, Emerald Lumi measures 110 metres in length, allowing it to sail into the heart of Paris and reach Honfleur, a destination accessible to only a limited number of river cruise ships.
Designed for no more than 130 guests, the ship combines an intimate atmosphere with contemporary elegance. Spacious suites and staterooms feature innovative all-weather balconies, while public spaces include Reflections Restaurant, Horizon Bar & Lounge and a heated indoor pool that transforms into an evening cinema. Guests will also appreciate the onboard self-service laundry, a popular feature on Emerald Cruises’ newest river ships.
Sensations of the Seine & Normandy Debuts in 2027
Starting in March 2027, Emerald Lumi will operate the new eight-day Sensations of the Seine & Normandy itinerary, sailing roundtrip from Paris to Honfleur.
The itinerary features extended stays in port, including overnight calls and late departures in destinations such as Honfleur and La Roche-Guyon, giving guests more time to experience each destination.
Every day includes a guided excursion, complemented by EmeraldACTIVE options such as guided e-bike rides, hiking and kayaking. Guests can choose between relaxed sightseeing and more active exploration.
History, Culture and Local Flavours
History enthusiasts can follow in the footsteps of Claude Monet in Giverny or join a full-day excursion to Normandy’s D-Day landing beaches, visiting memorials, museums and historic sites connected to one of World War II’s defining moments.
Food lovers will enjoy experiences such as a walking tour of Honfleur paired with fresh oyster tasting, highlighting the town’s rich maritime heritage.
The itinerary also includes exclusive EmeraldPLUS experiences, including an onboard World War II lecture and a visit to a traditional Normandy cider farm featuring locally produced cider and regional delicacies.
Comprehensive Inclusions
Emerald Cruises includes airport transfers, daily breakfast, lunch and dinner, complimentary drinks with meals, guided excursions, EmeraldPLUS and EmeraldACTIVE experiences, gratuities and Wi-Fi in the cruise fare. Optional +DiscoverMORE excursions are available at an additional cost.
