With a dramatic champagne bottle smashed against the bow and thousands of enthusiastic guests in attendance, TUI Cruises has officially welcomed Mein Schiff Flow into its fleet. The newest addition was christened in Trieste during an evening that went far beyond a traditional ship naming ceremony. Music, art, acrobatics and spectacular visual effects transformed the event into a full-scale festival at sea.
Three godmothers mark a first in TUI Cruises history
For this special occasion, TUI Cruises broke with tradition by appointing not one, but three godmothers. Julia, Annabelle and Karin shared the honorary role on stage for the christening of Mein Schiff Flow.

Each of them symbolised different generations, backgrounds and stories, reflecting the diversity of guests who travel with Mein Schiff every year. For the occasion, the three godmothers wore exclusive creations by fashion designer Guido Maria Kretschmer.
Mein Schiff Flow fully dedicated to the “Go with the Flow” concept
From early afternoon onwards, a unique atmosphere filled the ship. The christening theme “Go with the Flow” was present throughout every deck and venue.
Instead of a single central stage, multiple areas onboard were transformed into immersive experience zones where guests enjoyed live music, interactive art and creative activities.
On the Mistral Deck, passengers collaborated on artistic installations, while the theatre became an immersive space featuring light shows, digital projections and acrobatic performances. Live connections between locations ensured the entire ship functioned as one continuous event space.
A spectacular shipwide naming ceremony

As night fell, the full scale of the production became clear. Guests could follow the show from different parts of the ship, both indoors and outdoors, with illuminated Trieste forming a stunning backdrop.
For twenty minutes, Mein Schiff Flow itself became the stage. Performers, musicians and artists appeared across multiple locations — from the pool deck and bridge to the Agora and the bow.
Lighting effects, music, water elements and acrobatics blended seamlessly, bringing the ship’s philosophy to life: relaxed travel, freedom, and meaningful connection.
According to Wybcke Meier, CEO of TUI Cruises, Mein Schiff Flow represents a new era of cruising: “A ship naming ceremony is always one of the most emotional moments for a cruise line. With Mein Schiff Flow, we are adding a ship that focuses on freedom, relaxation and travelling at your own pace. Having three godmothers celebrate this milestone together highlights the connection and diversity that matter so much to our guests.”
First cruise season ahead in the Mediterranean
Following the celebrations, Mein Schiff Flow now begins its inaugural season. The ship will first operate in the Mediterranean before repositioning to Northern Germany for winter sailings.
With spacious outdoor areas, new relaxation concepts, and the open design characteristic of the InTUItion class, Mein Schiff Flow builds on the success of its sister ship Mein Schiff Relax. Together, they represent the next generation of the TUI Cruises fleet.
For guests, this means more choice, more space and a refreshed way of experiencing a holiday at sea — perfectly captured by the evening’s motto: just go with the flow.
