Virgin Voyages has arrived in Alaska, marking its first Pacific Northwest season aboard Brilliant Lady.
The ship sails from Seattle into the landscapes of the Pacific Northwest and Alaska — a region defined by glaciers, coastal waters, forested shorelines and vast open space.
Entering the Inside Passage
Brilliant Lady sails through mist-covered fjords and forested coastline as Virgin Voyages launches its first dedicated Alaska season. Routes through the Inside Passage bring the ship into narrow waterways framed by evergreen mountains, low cloud cover and glacier-fed waters.
Arrival in Ketchikan
Brilliant Lady arrives in Ketchikan, where colourful waterfront buildings sit beneath densely forested hillsides along Alaska’s southern coastline. The season introduces new destination programming shaped around Alaska’s communities, coastal heritage and natural environment.
Along Alaska’s Coastal Waterways
Sailings through the Pacific Northwest combine protected inlets, mountain-lined passages and stretches of open northern water. Changing weather and shifting light remain a constant presence throughout the journey.
Glacier Viewing
Virgin Voyages developed its Alaska season in collaboration with local ports and environmental organizations, including wildlife awareness initiatives and voluntary speed reductions in sensitive marine areas. Brilliant Lady also sails with advanced wastewater treatment systems and shore power capability onboard.
Watching the Icefields
New onboard programming includes resident Naturalists and Cultural Heritage Guides offering insight into Alaska’s ecosystems, wildlife and Indigenous perspectives. Select voyages also feature workshops and conversations led in partnership with Alaska Native Voices.
Through Coastal Waters
Brilliant Lady continues through Alaska’s coastal waterways, moving between evergreen shoreline, quiet inlets and mountain-lined passages. Shore excursions throughout the season are operated in partnership with local and sustainability-focused tour providers across the region.
Hubbard Glacier
Hubbard Glacier stretches across the landscape in fractured blue ice and snow-covered ridgelines. Glacier viewing forms part of several itineraries through Alaska’s southern coastal region.
Open Water in the North
Seasonal dining throughout the Pacific Northwest deployment highlights regional ingredients including Alaskan king crab, halibut and black cod. Alaska-inspired cocktails and expanded hot beverage offerings also feature across onboard bars and lounges.
Departure Through the Fjords
Virgin Voyages’ Alaska debut marks the brand’s first dedicated season in the region, combining destination-led programming with new itineraries sailing from Seattle aboard Brilliant Lady.
