There is a particular pleasure in returning to a ship you already know well — especially when every familiar space feels subtly more beautiful than before.
This October, Crystal Serenity will enter drydock for a three-week refurbishment designed to further refine one of luxury cruising’s most beloved ships. From refreshed suites and reimagined public spaces to discreet technical upgrades beneath the surface, the transformation promises a more elevated expression of everything guests already love about life aboard Crystal Serenity.
For Crystal, the project reflects a philosophy of thoughtful evolution rather than reinvention. “These enhancements underscore our commitment to creating meaningful, memorable experiences for our guests at every touchpoint, while ensuring that Crystal Serenity continues to feel as welcoming and enriching as the journeys themselves,” says Bernie Leypold, Senior Vice President of Hotel Operations for Crystal.
Refreshed Aquamarine Suites
The most noticeable changes begin on Deck 10, where the Aquamarine Classic Suites will undergo a complete refresh of their living areas and bathrooms.

New furnishings and finishes will introduce a softer, more contemporary feel, echoing the refined design language introduced during the ship’s 2023 transformation. Importantly, the suites’ defining qualities — generous layouts and spacious bathrooms with separate bathtubs and showers — remain unchanged.
New carpeting and wall treatments throughout the Deck 10 corridors will extend this sense of renewal beyond the suites themselves, creating a more cohesive, residential atmosphere from the moment guests step off the elevator.
Crystal Cove, Redefined
If the suites are designed for retreat, the Atrium and Crystal Cove have always been where the ship comes alive.

Here, Crystal is introducing one of the most ambitious elements of the refurbishment. The central space will adopt a more fluid, contemporary character with expanded seating, a new marble dance floor and a redesigned stage for live performances and signature evenings at sea.
A striking De Castelli mosaic — inspired by the installation aboard Crystal Symphony — will introduce a layer of artisanal detail, while the reception area will be reimagined with marble finishes and softly illuminated architectural elements. New wallpaper and mosaic detailing across surrounding columns and walls will complete the transformation, balancing contemporary design with quiet opulence.
A New Rhythm at the Seahorse Pool
The Seahorse Pool remains one of Crystal Serenity’s most sociable outdoor spaces, and its experience is set to become even more effortless.

A new Pool Bar, positioned midship on Deck 12, will anchor the space, allowing guests to enjoy drinks and refreshments without stepping away from the sun deck. Whether for a midday pause or a sunset cocktail, service will feel closer, faster and more intuitive.
New outdoor furnishings will further soften the pool deck, creating a more relaxed, resort-like atmosphere shaped as much for lingering as for swimming. Operating hours will adjust according to itinerary and weather conditions, reflecting Crystal’s guest-led approach to service.
Refined Touches Across Signature Venues
Elsewhere onboard, several of Crystal Serenity’s most familiar venues will receive subtle but meaningful refinements.
At the Stardust Club, new tables and chandeliers will restore a heightened sense of occasion to evenings of live music and entertainment. Waterside Restaurant will see renovated service stations and newly upholstered seating, enhancing comfort while preserving its well-established dining rhythm.
The Marketplace, a relaxed favorite for breakfast and lunch, will be refreshed with new seating throughout, ensuring continuity of comfort across the day.
Technical Enhancements Beneath the Surface
Beyond the visible refinements, Crystal Serenity will undergo a comprehensive series of technical upgrades designed to support performance, efficiency and sustainability.

Work along the propulsion line will enhance long-term operational reliability, while a full overhaul of the fin stabilizers will help maintain the smooth, steady sailing experience central to Crystal’s identity.
Hull cleaning and repainting, alongside upgrades to electrical and automation systems, will modernize key onboard infrastructure and contribute to reduced fuel and water consumption as well as lower emissions. New sound and entertainment systems installed across main public areas will further elevate the onboard atmosphere in subtle but meaningful ways.
Following completion of the refurbishment, Crystal Serenity is scheduled to resume service on November 8, 2026, with a 15-day transatlantic voyage from Lisbon to Fort Lauderdale before continuing into her Caribbean season.
