Protected: Scenic Group Announces Significant Expansion for 2028

Scenic Group has announced a significant expansion of its worldwide yacht cruising program for 2028. The launch of Emerald Xara and the return of Scenic Eclipse II to Australia, the Kimberley and the South Pacific, follows its successful two‑year deployment in the region.

Following the inaugural sailing of Emerald Kaia in April, Emerald Cruises is progressing the launch of two more superyachts, with Emerald Raiya from 2027, followed by Emerald Xara joining the luxury fleet in 2028. The first of these yachts to explore Asia and Australia, Emerald Xara will operate 15 new itineraries across these regions. This includes Japan, South Korea, Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia’s Raja Ampat islands, before venturing south to Darwin and the rugged coastlines of Australia’s remote Kimberley region and onto Papua New Guinea.

For the first time, guests will be able to explore this extraordinary part of the world across both Scenic Group brands – experiencing the truly all‑inclusive discovery of Scenic Eclipse II or the relaxed luxury of Emerald Xara.

Tom Batchelor, Acting Vice President, Deployment, Product & Port Operations – Ocean said “We are delighted to be bringing Scenic Eclipse II back to the Kimberley, Oceania and East Antarctica from March 2028, following two highly successful seasons that highlight the region’s strong appeal for world‑class expedition and discovery journeys. Launching Emerald Xara for her inaugural season means guests can explore this extraordinary part of the world across both of our brands, reflecting our confidence to deliver unique experiences in the region, plus our commitment to growing Scenic Group’s presence across all continents globally.”

Having recently departed the region for the Mediterranean and Arctic, Scenic Eclipse II will return to the Oceania region in 2028. The Scenic Discovery Yacht will operate an extended program across the South Pacific, sailing from Tahiti through the Pacific islands to Australia’s Kimberley coastline. The voyages will continue over the Top End and down to Hobart, before travelling to New Zealand for two voyages to East Antarctica’s & the Ross Sea, then onwards through Indonesia’s Spice Islands to Japan and South Korea.

These latest announcements build on the momentum of Scenic Group’s extensive expansion program, which includes the recent maiden sailing of Emerald Kaia and river launches in Europe for Emerald Astra (May 2026), Emerald Lumi (2027), as well as the yacht Emerald Raiya (2027). Scenic will also introduce Scenic Spirit II on the Mekong in early 2028 and the highly anticipated Scenic Ikon Discovery Yacht in 2028.
