The launch of EXPLORA III in July 2026 marks a transformative milestone for Explora Journeys, ushering in a new era of ultra-elegant ocean travel. As the first LNG-powered vessel in the fleet, she represents a powerful evolution of the brand’s vision, blending environmental responsibility with an uncompromising commitment to luxury. Ahead of her official naming ceremony in Barcelona on 1 August 2026, the ship will debut with an exclusive Mediterranean Prelude Journey. This intimate preview allows a select group of travelers to experience her refined design while sailing from Genoa to Civitavecchia. Following her maiden voyage to Lisbon on 3 August, EXPLORA III will venture toward the rugged landscapes of Northern Europe, Iceland, and Greenland, offering guests a deeper connection to the sea through escape-focused itineraries.
“EXPLORA III represents a natural yet powerful evolution of our vision for ocean travel,” said Anna Nash, President of Explora Journeys. “She has been conceived as a destination in her own right – a luxury floating hotel that offers even greater space, comfort and choice of amenities, while welcoming the same carefully balanced number of guests as EXPLORA I and EXPLORA II. This deliberate continuity allows for a more generous experience throughout the ship, where new residences and thoughtfully designed suites, alongside expansive public areas, foster a genuine feeling of being at home at sea.”
Nash added: “As the third ship in our fleet, EXPLORA III also marks an important milestone in our journey, bringing us halfway through our six-ship vision and reinforcing our long-term commitment to shaping a more refined future for ocean travel. EXPLORA III embodies our belief that true luxury lies in space, intention and the privilege of exploring the world at a more considered pace.”

EXPLORA III offers an increased length of 19.2 meters (63 ft), compared to the first vessels in the fleet, resulting in one of the highest ratios of public space per guest in the maritime industry, an impressive 19.5 sqm (210 sq ft). With almost one host for every guest, the service remains as personalized as it is expansive.
The architectural heart of the ship is the re-envisioned Lobby, a sculptural double-height atrium defined by the rich contrast of Sahara Noir and Perlato di Sicilia marbles. Whether enjoying a morning coffee or a late-evening cocktail accompanied by a Steinway piano, the Lobby Bar serves as the social anchor of the ship.

Serenity is further prioritized at The Conservatory Pool & Bar on Deck 11. This all-weather sanctuary is flooded with natural light through a protective glass framework. The retractable glass roof allows the environment to shift seamlessly between sheltered peace and open-air freedom, while evenings transform the space into a silent cinema experience beneath the stars. Beyond this central hub, guests can enjoy three additional outdoor heated swimming pools and five whirlpools. With sixty private cabanas and expanded shaded decks, the ship provides ample opportunity for relaxation in absolute seclusion.

The accommodations aboard EXPLORA III, referred to as “Homes at Sea,” include an increased number of Ocean Penthouses and Ocean Residences. Every suite features floor-to-ceiling windows and private terraces that invite the horizon inward. A major highlight is the introduction of a second Owner’s Residence. Positioned at the stern on Decks 7 and 8, these 280-square-meter residences occupy the full width of the ship. The residence on Deck 7, designed by the celebrated Patricia Urquiola, is a sensory sanctuary of tactile materials and European furnishings, complete with a private steam room and an outdoor whirlpool.

Culinary exploration remains a cornerstone of the experience, with EXPLORA III introducing three brand-new concepts alongside returning favorites like Sakura and Marble & Co. Grill. The Shore Club on 11 offers refined poolside dining, while The Chef’s Table provides a multi-sensory journey through live storytelling. For wine connoisseurs, The Cellar serves as a dedicated haven for rare vintages. The ship’s twelve bars and lounges ensure a diverse spectrum of atmospheres, including a Malt Whisky Bar complemented by a new Outdoor Cigar Lounge.

Wellness on EXPLORA III has been reimagined as a holistic, integrated journey located on Deck 5. By bringing the spa and fitness facilities together, the ship allows movement and renewal to coexist effortlessly. The Ocean Wellness spa introduces innovative rituals such as the Sava Sound Pod, which uses calibrated frequencies to promote mental clarity. The fitness center features the premium Technogym Sand Stone collection and a dedicated Pilates studio. For active pursuits, an expanded sports court facilitates padel and pickleball, while an extended running track offers uninterrupted views of the water.

The retail experience also reaches new heights with the debut of a Chopard boutique, marking the first time the historic Swiss Maison has been featured at sea. This is complemented by The Journey, a collection of over thirty artisanal brands, and the ship’s own inaugural line of meaningful jewelry. Art lovers can also explore the Galleria d’Arte, which hosts rotating exhibitions of classic and contemporary works in collaboration with Clarendon Fine Art.
Families are welcomed with spaces that preserve the ship’s tranquil atmosphere. The Nautilus Club provides tailored environments for children and teenagers, ensuring engaging activities that foster creativity. Furthermore, for those who must balance leisure with professional obligations, EXPLORA III introduces modular meeting rooms on Deck 11. These spaces are equipped with best-in-class technology for video conferencing, allowing for seamless connectivity without compromising the travel experience. As EXPLORA III prepares for her 2026 debut, she stands as a testament to the future of refined ocean travel, inviting travelers to embrace the “Ocean State of Mind” through a journey defined by intention and discovery.
