Crystal, long regarded as the pinnacle of exceptional cruise experiences, has entered a transformative era with the announcement of its newest vessel: Crystal Grace. This landmark reveal marks the brand’s first ocean new-build in a quarter of a century and the first under the visionary ownership of the Abercrombie & Kent Travel Group (AKTG). Representing a seamless fusion of Crystal’s storied heritage and AKTG’s world-renowned expertise in global exploration, Crystal Grace is poised to redefine the very meaning of luxury at sea.
The Vision Behind the Name
The journey to the big reveal was an interactive affair; Crystal engaged its global community through a digital word game shared across social media, inviting loyal fans and travel enthusiasts to guess the name before the official announcement. The choice of “Grace” was deeply intentional. According to Cristina Levis, CEO of A&K Travel Group, the name is more than a label – it is a promise.

“Crystal Grace reflects the effortless elegance, generous spirit, and sense of tranquility that define the Crystal experience,” Levis stated. “With this ship, we are honoring our heritage while continuing to evolve for a new generation of guests.”
The name further reflects the ship’s refined aesthetic and the graceful manner in which Crystal vessels navigate the world’s most breathtaking destinations. It signals a bold evolution of the brand’s celebrated identity, blending innovation with a timeless style that anticipates the needs of modern travelers.
Unparalleled Design and Culinary Excellence
Measuring 61,800 gross tons and accommodating just 650 guests (based on double occupancy), Crystal Grace strikes a rare balance between intimacy and grandeur. The ship was designed by the leading cruise ship architectural firm GEM, with overall art direction and interior design coordination by the Milan-based Studio Ibsen. Together, they have crafted a vessel that showcases an extraordinary level of craftsmanship and meticulous attention to detail.
One of the ship’s standout physical features is a promenade extending the entire perimeter of the ship. This classic design element provides guests with a perfect venue for leisurely strolls accompanied by uninterrupted, stunning ocean views.
The culinary offerings aboard Crystal Grace are equally ambitious, featuring world-class dining included in the voyage price. Guests can enjoy the legendary Japanese-Peruvian fusion of Umi Uma, which remains the only Nobu restaurant at sea. Furthermore, the ship will host the only Beefbar at sea and Osteria d’Ovidio, where the menu is meticulously designed by the Michelin-starred Italian Alajmo brothers.
Beyond the plate, the ship will maintain one of the highest crew-to-passenger ratios in the industry. Every suite is attended by a Crystal butler, providing intuitive, personalized service – from evening turndown preparations to ensuring every bespoke preference is met with flawless execution.
A New Standard for Accommodations: The Suite Collection

The all-suite, all-veranda accommodations aboard Crystal Grace have been reimagined to offer an elevated “residential” feeling. Bernie Leypold, Senior Vice President of Hotel Operations, emphasized that guest feedback was central to the design, leading to enhanced storage solutions and a first-ever configuration for the brand: expansive wraparound verandas.
The Evolution of Space and Comfort
The entry-level Guest Rooms with Veranda offer 230 square feet of refined comfort, featuring a private a 57 sq. ft. veranda and thoughtful additions like walk-in showers and extra overhead storage compartments. The majority of the ship’s accommodations consist of the Aquamarine Veranda Suites, which provide 333 square feet of living space including a vanity area and daily afternoon canapés. Select units feature separate bathtubs and walk-in closets. For those with specific accessibility needs, the ADA Aquamarine Veranda Suites span 341 square feet and ensure a seamless flow through the bedroom, bathroom, and outdoor spaces.
For travelers who prefer distinct areas for relaxing and sleeping, the Sapphire Suites offer a sophisticated “home away from home” experience on Decks 6 through 9. These suites range from 461 to 537 square feet and include walk-in closets and dining tables, while select units feature massive 344-square-foot wraparound verandas.
The Pinnacle of Luxury: Penthouses

The higher-tier accommodations provide an even more expansive sense of scale. The Junior Penthouse Suites are designed as true residences at sea, spanning 845 square feet with 227 sq. ft. verandas. These suites include Jacuzzi bathtubs and separate living and dining areas. Guests in this category also enjoy the added luxury of unlimited laundry service and unlimited dining at specialty restaurants. For an even more dramatic experience, two specific Junior Penthouses located forward on Deck 8 boast staggering 602-square-foot wraparound verandas.
The Penthouse Suites serve as the ultimate residential-style retreat, covering 1,232 square feet and featuring a private study, custom built-in bar, and two walk-in closets. The most exclusive of these are located aft on Decks 7 and 9, where the indoor luxury is matched by a 982-square-foot wraparound veranda, offering the most expansive outdoor living and panoramic views available on the ship.
The A&K Advantage: Integrated Exploration
While Crystal Grace offers a sanctuary at sea, its connection to Abercrombie & Kent ensures that the journey continues seamlessly on land. Crystal is currently the only cruise line with a global, in-house capability to curate land experiences through A&K’s network of integrated Destination Management Companies (DMCs). This allows for exclusive, high-touch events and excursions that are powered by decades of luxury travel expertise.
Looking Ahead to 2028
Scheduled for delivery on May 31, 2028, Crystal Grace will undergo a series of preview sailings before embarking on her official inaugural voyage on June 11, 2028. The brand has also teased that it will soon unveil even more categories, including a first-ever Owner’s Suite, further broadening the choices for the next generation of luxury cruisers.
