Norwegian Cruise Line Reveals Winter 2027/28 Schedule and the Return of Free at Sea Plus

Norwegian Cruise Line has announced its winter 2027/28 deployment, featuring over 370 voyages across nearly 50 countries. This massive season of travel includes the return of the popular Free at Sea Plus package, which offers premium upgrades like unlimited Starbucks, streaming Wi-Fi, and top-shelf drinks. Starting in November 2027, the company will also make history by homeporting two of its newest Prima Class ships, Norwegian Prima and Norwegian Viva, in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

The new season spans from September 2027 through April 2028, offering itineraries that range from quick two-day breaks to grand 22-day adventures. With a focus on 144 unique destinations, NCL is prioritizing deep exploration by scheduling an average of 9.5 hours in port, along with 71 late-night departures and 70 overnight stays. This allows travelers more time to immerse themselves in local cultures across the Caribbean, Bahamas, Bermuda, the Mexican Riviera, Asia, and the South Pacific.

Expanding the Caribbean Experience from San Juan and Florida

For the first time ever, NCL will station two award-winning Prima Class ships in San Juan, Puerto Rico. From November 13, 2027, through April 22, 2028, Norwegian Prima will sail seven-day Southern Caribbean itineraries every Saturday, visiting spots like Tortola, St. Maarten, Barbados, and St. Lucia. Norwegian Viva will join her sister ship from November 14, 2027, through January 2028, operating Sunday departures that include popular stops in Aruba and Curaçao.

Florida will serve as a primary hub with seven ships departing from Miami, Port Canaveral, and Jacksonville. From the “Cruise Capital of the World” in Miami, Norwegian Joy, Norwegian Jewel, and Norwegian Luna will offer a wide range of trips. Norwegian Joy will focus on short Bahamas escapes, while Norwegian Jewel will handle longer 10- and 11-day journeys to the Southern Caribbean and the Panama Canal. The new Norwegian Luna will provide seven-day Eastern Caribbean sailings throughout the season.

Port Canaveral will host Norwegian Aqua, Norwegian Breakaway, and Norwegian Epic. Norwegian Aqua will sail Western Caribbean routes every Sunday, visiting the Cayman Islands and Mexico. Norwegian Breakaway will provide flexible four- and five-day Bahamas trips, and Norwegian Epic will sail Eastern Caribbean itineraries departing on Fridays. Additionally, Norwegian Dawn will return to Jacksonville for its second season, offering four- and five-day trips to Nassau and Freeport.

Commitment to Philadelphia and the Gulf Coast

Following its return to Philadelphia in 2026, NCL will continue its year-round presence there with Norwegian Pearl. From October 2027 through April 2028, the ship will offer a diverse mix of five- to 12-day sailings to Bermuda, the Bahamas, and the Caribbean. These voyages include overnight stays at the Royal Naval Dockyard in Bermuda and visits to destinations like Puerto Plata and St. Thomas.

In the Gulf Coast, Norwegian Escape and Norwegian Getaway will provide Western Caribbean adventures. Norwegian Escape will homeport in Galveston, Texas, for a full season of Saturday departures, while Norwegian Getaway will sail from New Orleans on Sundays. Both ships will visit Harvest Caye, NCL’s private resort-style destination in Belize, as well as Cozumel and Roatán.

Immersive Asia and South Pacific Journeys

Norwegian Jade will offer culturally rich itineraries across Japan and Southeast Asia from October 2027 through April 2028. Sailing from Tokyo, Seoul, Hong Kong, and Singapore, the ship will visit over 20 unique Japanese ports, including Hakodate and Okinawa. Highlights include overnight stays in Kobe and Hong Kong, allowing guests to experience the nightlife and local dining. Six Southeast Asia voyages will also connect Singapore and Hong Kong, stopping at tropical destinations in Thailand, Vietnam, and the Philippines.

In Australia and New Zealand, Norwegian Spirit returns for its fifth consecutive season between December 2027 and April 2028. Homeporting in Sydney, Auckland, and Singapore, the ship will offer voyages ranging from eight to 21 days. This season marks NCL’s debut in Esperance, Australia, and features overnight stays in Melbourne and Adelaide. The ship has been redesigned with an adult-focused atmosphere, making it ideal for couples seeking an upscale South Pacific escape.

Enhanced Perks with Free at Sea Plus

By popular demand, NCL is bringing back the Free at Sea Plus package for sailings departing on or after February 1, 2026. For $49.99 per person per day, guests can upgrade their experience to include unlimited Starbucks beverages, unlimited streaming Wi-Fi, and a premium selection of wines and champagnes. This package also grants an unlimited open bar at Great Stirrup Cay and a 50% discount on additional specialty dining charges.

Combined with the standard Free at Sea benefits – such as shore excursion credits and high-speed Wi-Fi – this upgrade offers travelers total budget control and a more seamless, luxury-focused vacation.
