Princess Cruises has celebrated the maiden call of Majestic Princess to the United Kingdom. The 3,560-guest ship arrived at Southampton’s QEII terminal on July 18, 2025 marking the first time the ship has called to a port in the UK.
Launched in 2017, Majestic Princess began her inaugural season in the Mediterranean and has since sailed across destinations including Alaska, Australia, and Canada and New England. The ship’s visit marks a significant milestone, as in 2026 Majestic Princess will sail roundtrip Southampton for the first time, taking guests around the British Isles and to Northern Europe. In addition Majestic Princess will return for another British Isles and Northern Europe season in 2027.
“We’re incredibly excited to welcome Majestic Princess – the third in our Royal Class ship line-up – to Southampton for the first time today. It’s been a pleasure to be onboard to celebrate this special visit,” said Hayley Moore, Sales Director Princess Cruises UK and Europe.

To celebrate the maiden call a traditional plaque and key ceremony was held onboard, attended by Majestic Princess Captain Paul Slight and Associated British Port’s (ABP) Regional Director Alastair Welch.
Alastair Welch said: “It was a pleasure to visit Majestic Princess today during her inaugural visit to Southampton. I was privileged to join Captain Paul Slight for the traditional plaque and key exchange and to wish the vessel a safe onward journey to Boston via Iceland. We can’t wait to welcome her back to Southampton in 2026, where we’re excited that she will homeport for the summer season.”
A standout feature, and unique to Majestic Princess, is its indoor Hollywood Pool Club and Conservatory, an indoor top-deck retreat offering a relaxing, all-weather space for guests.
Having recently undergone a remarkable transformation, Majestic Princess now boasts beloved venues and experiences from across our fleet, such as Sabatini’s Italian Trattoria and O’Malley’s Irish Pub, as well as unique features such as the indoor Hollywood Pool Club and Conservatory, which is ideally suited for British Isles and Northern Europe itineraries.
