Italian cruise line Costa Cruises has updated its health protocols. The new protocols are a result of the improved epidemiological situation and new provisions that provide for a simplification of the anti-Covid-19 measures.

All guests aged 12 and over will be able to embark if they have completed the vaccination cycle or if they have recovered from the disease (children under the age of 12 are exempt from this requirement). the new check-in procedure can be carried out already 10 days before departure. During the procedure guests must fill in a self-declaration certifying their state of health and compliance with vaccination requirements:

  • 3 doses of vaccination (or 1 dose J&J + 1 dose booster)
  • 2 doses of vaccination (or 1 dose J&J) + recovery from the disease
  • 2 doses of vaccination
  • recovery from the disease + 1 dose of vaccination (or vice versa)
  • recovery from the disease

The use of face masks is no longer mandatory which will allow guests tot enjoy the cruise experience even more. Masks are however still required in theaters, the medical center, during bus transfers and while in Greek ports. Additionally it is also no longer necessary to have Covid insurance in order to board.
