Carnival Tropicale Brings a Bigger, Bolder World of Fun to Sea

Everything is bigger in Texas, and beginning April 15, 2028, Carnival Tropicale will bring that larger-than-life spirit onboard with a ship designed to make every day at sea an experience of its own. As Carnival Cruise Line’s newest and final Excel-class ship, Carnival Tropicale combines vibrant tropical-inspired interiors with family adventures, immersive entertainment, innovative dining and plenty of spaces to relax, play and connect.

From the moment guests step onboard, Carnival Tropicale is designed to feel energetic, colorful and unmistakably Carnival. Throughout the ship, bold design elements, tropical scenery and lively public spaces create an atmosphere that invites guests to explore, while a mix of indoor and outdoor venues gives everyone the freedom to shape their own day at sea.

Tropical Design at the Heart of the Ship

One of the ship’s central gathering spaces is the Grand Central Atrium, where tropical scenery takes center stage during the day. The space provides a vibrant backdrop for guests to meet, relax and enjoy the atmosphere onboard, while also serving as a focal point for activities and entertainment.

The design of Carnival Tropicale continues throughout its public spaces, creating a sense of discovery as guests move from one area to another. High-energy attractions sit alongside spaces designed for socializing and unwinding, making it easy to switch between adventure, entertainment and relaxation without ever leaving the ship.

As the day progresses, the atmosphere onboard evolves. Spaces that are filled with activity during the day take on a new energy in the evening, while entertainment, dining and social experiences give guests plenty of reasons to stay out and explore after sunset.

A New Take on Family Fun

At the center of the family experience is Sunsation Point, a vibrant, multi-deck family fun zone designed to keep guests entertained from day to night. The area is anchored by Carnival WaterWorks Ultra, Carnival’s most family-friendly water park at sea, featuring six waterslides, including SunSoaker, Turning Tides and Racing Currents, as well as splash areas designed specifically for younger cruisers.

The waterpark is just one part of the activity lineup. Guests can also challenge friends and family to a round of the redesigned Fairway 66 Mini Golf course, inspired by the legendary Route 66, or head to the sports courts for some friendly competition.

For guests looking for a different kind of adventure, the Treehouse Adventure Trail adds an elevated element to the onboard experience. Netted pathways and obstacles create a playful course where guests can climb, explore and make their way through a series of challenges.

Gaming takes a nostalgic turn at The Vault Retrocade, a new arcade space that blends classic favorites with modern gaming experiences. The space offers another way for families and friends to spend time together, while giving different generations the chance to discover games old and new.

And the fun does not stop when the sun goes down. Special evening activities and extended waterpark hours allow guests to continue enjoying Sunsation Point after dark, adding another dimension to the ship’s family entertainment.

A New Course of Flavors

The experience continues at the table, where Carnival Tropicale will introduce The Next Course of dining concepts, bringing a variety of international flavors and culinary influences onboard.

Uku Lei Lei will offer Hawaiian-inspired cuisine with Asian influences, creating dishes inspired by the flavors and ingredients associated with the Pacific. Fetaccine will bring together Greek and Italian influences, combining two distinct Mediterranean culinary traditions in one dining experience.

Guests can also discover Emeril’s Coastal Seafood, featuring seafood dishes inspired by America’s coastlines and created in partnership with Carnival’s Chief Culinary Officer, Chef Emeril Lagasse.

Together, these dining concepts add new variety to the culinary experience onboard, giving guests opportunities to explore different cuisines throughout their time at sea.

Entertainment With a Touch of Show Business

Entertainment aboard Carnival Tropicale will draw inspiration from the golden era of show business, bringing a sense of spectacle and personality to the ship’s evening experience.

New entertainment concepts and exclusive spaces will offer guests additional ways to enjoy their time onboard, with experiences designed around the glamour, energy and theatrical spirit of classic show business.

The entertainment experience will complement the ship’s broader mix of activities, creating an easy transition from daytime adventures to evenings filled with shows, activities and social experiences. Additional details about the ship’s entertainment and other onboard experiences will be revealed in the months ahead.

Spaces to Play, Connect and Unwind

Across Carnival Tropicale, the design is centered on choice. Guests can fill their day with activities, move between different entertainment venues, discover new dining experiences or simply find a place to sit back and enjoy the atmosphere.

That variety is part of what defines the ship’s interior experience. From the lively energy of Sunsation Point and the Grand Central Atrium to the dining venues, entertainment spaces and activity areas throughout the ship, each environment offers a different way to experience a day at sea.

Whether guests are traveling with children, meeting friends, spending time with family or simply looking for their own favorite spot onboard, Carnival Tropicale offers a combination of spaces and experiences designed to make the time between destinations just as engaging as the destinations themselves.
