Cordelia Cruises will introduce Cordelia Sky to the Indian market on October 23, 2026, with a three-night sailing from Mumbai to Goa. The departure will mark the beginning of the ship’s first season in India, with Mumbai serving as its main base during the opening months. The schedule will combine short coastal cruises with longer voyages to Lakshadweep, giving the line a fairly broad range of itineraries from the same port.
Built in 1999 as Norwegian Sky, the 258-metre ship has a gross tonnage of 77,104 and can accommodate 2,004 guests at double occupancy. Its 1,002 staterooms cover several accommodation categories, while the onboard facilities are aimed at both short-break passengers and those spending several days at sea.
The first months will be particularly varied. Alongside two-night weekend cruises, the programme includes three-night sailings to Goa, four-night Lakshadweep cruises and five-night itineraries combining Goa and Lakshadweep. This gives Cordelia room to appeal to passengers looking for anything from a quick weekend away to a longer holiday without having to change ships or embark from another port.
A Broad Mix of Short Cruises
The opening deployment is built around several different cruise lengths rather than one standard itinerary. The first sailing on October 23 will be followed by a two-night Mumbai-Goa cruise, while later departures will include four-night Lakshadweep voyages and five-night cruises combining Goa and Lakshadweep. Additional weekend departures will fill out the schedule.
Lakshadweep is one of the more prominent destinations in the programme, with later sailings also expected to call at Agatti Island. Mormugao and Cochin are included on other itineraries, while some cruises will spend part of the voyage at sea rather than making a port call every day. That mix is likely to make the ship itself an important part of the experience, particularly on the longer sailings.
What Passengers Will Find Onboard

There is plenty to keep passengers occupied between ports. Cordelia Sky has more than 30,000 square feet of open deck space, two pools and five hot tubs, as well as activity areas for pickleball, cricket and other sports. A fitness centre and spa add more options, with steam and sauna facilities, a salon and treatment rooms available to guests.
Families have not been overlooked either. Younger children can take part in supervised activities, while teenagers have a dedicated social space of their own. With the ship offering a mixture of recreational, wellness and family facilities, passengers do not have to rely on shore excursions to fill the day.
Dining is spread across ten venues, covering regional Indian cuisine, sushi and Italian dishes alongside buffet and more casual sea-view options. Pure vegetarian and Jain meals are also available. There are 11 bars and lounges around the ship, while the 930-seat Marquee Theatre provides the main venue for production shows, variety performances and other large-scale entertainment. Live music, games and other activities will take place elsewhere on board.

The 1,002 staterooms include 429 Interior and 313 Ocean View cabins, as well as 245 Mini Suites. The Mini Suites provide additional space and private balconies, while the higher categories include 11 Penthouse Suites and four Chairman’s Suites.
The Chairman’s Suites are the largest accommodation category on the ship and have separate living, dining and bedroom areas. Each also comes with a private balcony and hot tub, while guests staying in these suites receive dedicated butler and concierge services.
Chennai to Singapore in 2027

The deployment will become more international in mid-2027, when Cordelia Sky is scheduled to reposition to Chennai. From late June through late August, the ship is expected to operate eight seven-night cruises between Chennai and Singapore, with the itinerary including Langkawi and Port Klang in Malaysia, an overnight stay in Phuket and two days at sea.
The cruises will operate in both directions, giving passengers the choice of travelling from Chennai to Singapore or taking the corresponding Singapore-to-Chennai voyage. Kuala Lumpur is also part of Cordelia’s wider Southeast Asia programme, although the published itinerary for the eight sailings centres on the route between Chennai and Singapore.
After the summer series, Cordelia Sky is due to return to Mumbai and resume shorter Indian itineraries. The move to Chennai will therefore be a seasonal change rather than a permanent shift away from the ship’s original Indian base.
Cordelia Sun Will Join the Fleet
Cordelia’s expansion will continue later in 2027 with the arrival of Cordelia Sun, the former Norwegian Sun. Built in 2001, the ship is scheduled to make its Indian debut on November 1, 2027, with a four-night roundtrip from Mumbai to Agatti Island. The itinerary will include two days at sea.
Subsequent voyages are scheduled to cover Agatti, Mormugao and Cochin, with durations ranging from two to five nights. Some departures will be two-night cruises to nowhere, while selected sailings will offer boarding in Cochin and Goa. The currently published programme runs through April 2028, giving Cordelia a substantial schedule for the ship’s first months in the market.
Together with Cordelia Empress, the former Empress of the Seas, the two incoming ships will give Cordelia a three-ship fleet in India by the end of 2027. For Cordelia Sky, however, the immediate focus remains Mumbai, where its October debut will establish the ship’s Indian programme before the deployment expands to Southeast Asia the following summer.
