Princess Cruises is highlighting its extensive 2028 Alaska program, with 185 departures across 14 itineraries and eight ships, including the new Star Princess. Voyages range from four to 16 nights, combining spectacular glacier scenery with calls at Juneau, Ketchikan and Skagway, as well as wildlife and authentic experiences ashore.
Princess Cruises has been sailing to Alaska since 1969, giving the brand nearly six decades of experience creating cruise and land vacations in the Great Land.
The cruise line offers a variety of ways to discover Alaska, from Inside Passage and glacier-focused cruises to extended cruisetours with multiple nights ashore. Guests can also stay at Princess’ own Wilderness Lodges, including Denali Princess Wilderness Lodge, Mt. McKinley Princess Wilderness Lodge, Fairbanks Princess Riverside Lodge, Kenai Princess Wilderness Lodge and Copper River Princess Wilderness Lodge.

A Season Built Around Alaska’s Iconic Experiences
Princess Cruises’ 2028 Alaska program features 185 departures across 14 unique itineraries, with voyages ranging from four to 16 nights. Eight ships will sail in the region: Star Princess, Discovery Princess, Emerald Princess, Royal Princess, Coral Princess, Crown Princess, Island Princess and Ruby Princess.
Departures are available from Seattle, Vancouver, Anchorage (Whittier), San Francisco and Los Angeles, with 16 destinations featured across the program, including Juneau, Ketchikan and Skagway.
Scenic cruising is another highlight, with itineraries offering views of four of Alaska’s most spectacular glacier regions: Glacier Bay National Park, Hubbard Glacier, College Fjord and Endicott Arm & Dawes Glacier. Glacier Bay National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, will be visited 86 times during the season.
Selected itineraries also feature late-evening calls, giving guests more time to experience local culture, wildlife and outdoor adventures.
Voyage of the Glaciers
Princess’ celebrated Voyage of the Glaciers itineraries remain a highlight of the Alaska season. These one-way cruises between Anchorage (Whittier) and Vancouver showcase some of Alaska’s most spectacular scenery, with calls at destinations including Juneau, Ketchikan and Skagway. Many itineraries combine two glacier-viewing experiences with the option to extend the cruise with an immersive cruisetour.
One example is the seven-night Voyage of the Glaciers northbound from Vancouver to Anchorage aboard Crown Princess. Departing Saturday, May 13, 2028, the cruise calls at Ketchikan, Juneau and Skagway, followed by scenic cruising in Glacier Bay National Park and College Fjord. Princess Standard fares start from £624 per person.
Inside Passage From Convenient Homeports
For guests who prefer to explore Alaska from a roundtrip homeport, Princess offers a wide selection of Inside Passage cruises departing from Seattle, Vancouver, San Francisco and Los Angeles. These itineraries combine glaciers, wildlife and picturesque coastal communities.
One example is the seven-night Inside Passage cruise roundtrip from Vancouver aboard Island Princess. Departing Sunday, September 20, 2028, the itinerary calls at Juneau, Skagway and Ketchikan, with scenic cruising through Endicott Arm and past Dawes Glacier. Princess Standard fares start from £757 per person.
Go Beyond the Coast With Cruisetours
Guests looking to explore Alaska beyond the coastline can choose from Princess cruisetours, combining a cruise with multiple nights ashore. These itineraries take travelers into the state’s interior, national parks and Princess’ own Wilderness Lodges.
Most itineraries include visits to Glacier Bay National Park and Denali National Park, along with stays at exclusive lodges near Denali, Kenai Fjords and Wrangell-St. Elias national parks.
A key part of the experience is the Direct-to-the-Wilderness rail service between Whittier and the Denali area. Guests travel aboard custom glass-domed railcars with open-air viewing platforms, offering expansive views of Alaska’s mountains, rivers and wilderness along the way.
The cruisetours are available in three collections: Denali Essentials, Denali Explorer and Denali Escorted. Selected itineraries allow guests to visit up to four national parks during a single vacation.
Princess’ Wilderness Lodges, including Denali Princess Wilderness Lodge and Mt. McKinley Princess Wilderness Lodge, offer stays surrounded by Alaska’s wilderness, with access to wildlife, spectacular landscapes and outdoor adventures, including opportunities to catch a glimpse of Denali, the tallest mountain in North America.
Kenai Princess Wilderness Lodge is located along the turquoise Kenai River and serves as a base for experiences including salmon fishing, rafting, visits to Seward and Exit Glacier, and wildlife cruises through Kenai Fjords National Park.
Shore Experiences Highlights
The Alaska experience continues both onboard and ashore. Through the North to Alaska program, developed in partnership with local experts, guests can discover the destination’s history, traditions and natural beauty through culinary experiences, cultural presentations and destination-inspired entertainment.
Guest favorites include Puppies in the Piazza, Cook My Catch, Tales from the Deadliest Catch, Native Alaska cultural presentations and the Glacier Bay National Park Junior Ranger program. Educational experiences are also offered at Princess Wilderness Lodges.
Through Local Connections shore excursions, guests can explore Alaska from a local perspective, with experiences including whale watching with Juneau’s renowned Allen family, historic White Pass Railway adventures in Skagway, exclusive lumberjack experiences in Ketchikan, helicopter glacier landings near Denali and wildlife cruises through Kenai Fjords National Park.
