Century Cruises is making its debut on the European market with the introduction of Century Star. The elegant new river ship recently left the shipyard and is currently undergoing final finishing touches ahead of its inaugural sailing on 18 September 2026. The first voyage will depart from Budapest and sail to Passau.
A series of pre-inaugural sailings will begin on 11 August 2026, allowing guests to experience the new ship and Century Cruises’ approach to premium river travel.
Four Exceptional Journeys Across the Danube and Rhine
Century Star will offer a collection of carefully designed European river cruises. The Classic Journeys include an 8-day Danube cruise between Budapest and Passau and an 8-day Rhine cruise between Amsterdam and Basel.
For travellers looking for a more extensive European adventure, two Grand Journeys will also be available. The 15-day itinerary from Passau to the Black Sea and back explores centuries of history, diverse cultures and spectacular scenery. The 15-day journey between Amsterdam and Budapest and back follows Europe’s legendary rivers, visiting fascinating cities, landscapes and cultural destinations.
The Heritage Collection Reveals Europe’s History
Building on years of expertise delivering authentic cultural experiences on the Yangtze River, Century Cruises is introducing The Heritage Collection. This curated portfolio of premium shore excursions is designed to offer guests a deeper connection with Europe’s heritage.
A Danube journey becomes a voyage through history, from the legacy of the Roman Empire and the grandeur of the Austro-Hungarian Empire to the lasting influence of the Ottoman world. Each civilisation has shaped the architecture, landscapes and traditions found along the river.
Through The Heritage Collection aboard Century Star, guests can explore destinations such as Vienna and Budapest, the spectacular Iron Gates Gorge, the ancient Tabula Traiana monument, medieval fortresses and authentic local traditions.
The Rhine experience focuses on Europe’s timeless scenery and culture. Guests can discover medieval castles, picturesque villages and historic cities along the riverbanks. Exclusive excursions include private concerts in historic castles and churches, meetings with boutique winemakers and visits to local markets together with the ship’s chef.

The dining experience aboard Century Star combines the best of East and West. Guests will enjoy an international culinary journey carefully created to meet the expectations of travellers from around the world.
