VIVA Cruises has confirmed that it will continue its commitment to price stability and transparency throughout 2026. While several players across the travel industry are introducing additional surcharges in response to rising operational costs, the river cruise operator has announced that neither guests nor travel partners will face extra charges for existing or new bookings made for 2026.
With this decision, VIVA Cruises aims to differentiate itself in a market where pricing adjustments and supplementary fees are becoming increasingly common. The company remains committed to a clear and transparent pricing strategy, ensuring travellers know exactly what to expect from the moment they book.
“We stand for a clear and fair pricing strategy,” says Andrea Kruse, CEO and co-founder of VIVA Cruises. “This means we do not rely on temporary promotions or discount campaigns — something that has been part of our approach since day one — but we also avoid introducing unexpected additional costs afterwards. Despite significantly increased fuel prices, we have chosen to keep our rates stable.”
The pricing policy applies to both new reservations and cruises that have already been booked for 2026. According to VIVA Cruises, this approach is intended to provide guests and travel partners with greater predictability and confidence at a time when pricing pressure across the travel sector continues to grow.
Since its launch in 2018, the Düsseldorf-based cruise line has focused on redefining the European river cruise experience. Combining contemporary design, a relaxed lifestyle atmosphere, high-end gastronomy and its extensive VIVA All-Inclusive concept, VIVA Cruises has quickly established itself as a premium player within the European river cruise market.
Alongside pricing stability, sustainability remains a central part of the company’s growth strategy. The fleet currently operates on synthetic GTL fuel and will gradually transition to HVO fuel from 2026 onwards. In addition, the ships make use of shore power and solar panels to further reduce environmental impact.
VIVA Cruises is also expanding its portfolio with the introduction of VIVA Boutique, a new premium concept within the brand. This collection focuses on smaller boutique ships offering a higher proportion of suites, fewer guests on board and an even more refined culinary experience.
The first ship within this concept, VIVA BEYOND, has been sailing on the Seine from Paris since this spring. In 2027, VIVA UNIQUE will join the fleet and offer cruises departing from Venice along the Po River in Italy.
