Valiant Lady Returns with New Experiences and Refreshed Spaces

Valiant Lady has returned to service following a recent dry dock refresh, introducing updated spaces, a new dining concept and an expanded entertainment programme ahead of her upcoming European and Caribbean deployments.

Virgin Voyages’ second Lady Ship has undergone a series of enhancements designed to refresh the onboard experience while building on the elements guests already know and enjoy. The updates include venue redesigns, additional social programming and more than 20 new “Happenings” across the ship.

Alongside the physical updates, Virgin Voyages notes that all 1,300+ crew members completed a renewed “Virgin Way” culture programme aimed at further strengthening the onboard guest experience.

From the Mediterranean this summer to San Juan later this year, Valiant Lady returns with new ways to dine, gather, relax and experience life at sea.

Valiant Lady has always been a ship our Sailors connected with, and this refresh gave us the opportunity to continue evolving the experience based on what guests value most,” said Nirmal Saverimuttu, CEO of Virgin Voyages.

“From new dining concepts to updated entertainment and service enhancements, we wanted to create additional reasons for guests to enjoy time onboard.”

What’s New Aboard Valiant Lady

Ariya by Razzle Dazzle

One of the headline additions is Ariya, a new Indian dining concept developed with Indie Culinaire and chef Maneet Chauhan.

The venue accommodates 220 guests and draws inspiration from India’s regional culinary traditions, offering dishes ranging from Lamb Shank Biryani to Puffed Rice and Avocado Chaat, complemented by cocktails inspired by similar flavour profiles.

According to Virgin Voyages, the venue takes its name from Sir Richard Branson’s great-great-grandmother and adds a new culinary layer to the ship’s existing dining offer.

Refreshed Guest Spaces

Several public areas across Valiant Lady have also been updated:

  • The Athletic Club now includes additional shaded daybeds and updated lounge seating overlooking the ocean.
  • The Roundabout has been refreshed with new furniture and updated styling.
  • Grounds Club Too continues serving Intelligentsia Coffee throughout the day and now transitions into a full bar experience from late afternoon onward.
  • The Manor has been reconfigured with the removal of raised platforms, creating a more open dance floor and event space.
  • On the Rocks introduces a relocated stage, improved sightlines and additional seating.
  • The Dock now features a revised stage setup and wind protection designed to improve outdoor performances.
  • Retail spaces welcome additions including TAG and Pandora, while the Virgin Voyages merchandise store has moved to a larger location onboard.

Expanded Entertainment Programme

Entertainment remains a central part of the refresh, with more than 20 new “Happenings” introduced across multiple venues.

The expanded lineup includes new experiences in the Red Room, The Manor, The Roundabout, The Perch and several dining and social spaces throughout the ship.

Among the additions are interactive productions and audience participation concepts including Sink or Swim, a game-show-style theatre experience, and Sports Smarts, which combines sports trivia with physical challenges.

In The Manor, guests will also find concepts such as Pay Attent!on and Nice Box!, both centred around social interaction and live participation.

Additional evening experiences include Dirty Laundry and Off the Record, designed as social activities focused on conversation, team dynamics and guest participation.

Food and drink also feature prominently in the new programme through experiences such as:

  • Extra Virgin: Aperitivo Club, exploring spritzes, olive oils and pasta pairings
  • Trust Your Tongue, focused on unexpected flavour combinations
  • Espresso Yourself, combining espresso martinis with music and tasting elements
  • Sweet Aft Matcha, offering a closer look at matcha and its versatility

For guests looking for daytime activities, the programme also expands into wellness, fitness and creative workshops.

Experiences including Silent Sweat, VHS Volume 2: The Great British Burn Off, Upcycle Club, Knot Today and Hooked provide a mix of movement, creativity and hands-on activities.

Elsewhere, concepts such as Extra! Extra!, Check, Please, Knees Up, Destination Unknown, Stargazers, Till Bar Do Us Part-y and Sun Society add further variety across sea days and evenings.

Where She’s Sailing

Valiant Lady’s upcoming deployment begins in Europe with itineraries including the Italian Grand Tour, French Riviera and Ibiza.

The ship will also operate Northern Explorer sailings from Amsterdam via Iceland, alongside a special Total Eclipse of the Med itinerary.

In October, Valiant Lady repositions to San Juan for six- to eight-night Caribbean sailings through April 2027.

With refreshed spaces, new dining options and an expanded entertainment offering, Valiant Lady returns to service with updates aimed at giving both returning and first-time guests more ways to experience the ship.
