Protected: Seabourn Announces New 2027-2029 Ocean Voyages as it Celebrates 40 Years at Sea

Seabourn has presented its new collection of ocean voyages for 2027–2029. With this, the cruise line sets course for its Ruby Jubilee in 2028, celebrating 40 years of maritime exploration. The new collection includes carefully curated itineraries across four continents, with voyages ranging from seven to 40 days, longer stays in ports, new destinations, and special anniversary programs.

The 2027–2029 season features a total of 118 departures to 243 destinations in 45 countries, including Alaska, Japan, Southeast Asia, the Mediterranean, Northern Europe, the Caribbean, and Canada & New England. The focus is on immersive travel, with smaller ports and authentic experiences that are only possible with small-scale, yacht-like ships.

“Travelers choose Seabourn because they want to truly connect with the destinations they visit,” says Mark Tamis, president of Seabourn. “Looking ahead to our 40th anniversary, this collection reflects both our origins and our future: a combination of small-scale luxury, new destinations, and innovative partnerships that bring luxury and discovery together.”

40 Years of Seabourn: Ruby Jubilee at Sea

In 2028, Seabourn celebrates its 40th anniversary since the launch of The Yachts of Seabourn in 1988. Throughout the year, all cruises will be enriched with special anniversary experiences on board.

  • Ruby Collection Voyages: A selection of 40 special voyages with exclusive experiences and renewed concepts, including Caribbean and Mediterranean cruises, a world cruise, and new itineraries in Japan and Southeast Asia.
  • Anniversary Program on Every Cruise: From thematic events to entertainment and enrichment inspired by 40 years of Seabourn.
  • Extensive Lecture Program with The Atlantic: The highlight is a 12-day cruise (departing October 4, 2028) featuring leading thinkers and cultural voices.
  • World Cruise 2028 (Cape-to-Cape): A 120-day journey visiting five continents, with destinations such as Antarctica, Easter Island, and the Falkland Islands, including a passage through the Panama Canal.

Key Destinations 2027–2029

Alaska

Seabourn Encore returns to Alaska in 2028 with 16 departures ranging from seven to 21 days between May and September. Along the Canadian Inside Passage and the rugged coast of Alaska, 22 ports will be visited. The voyages combine impressive glacier landscapes with expedition-style experiences, including explorations by Zodiac and kajuit (kayak) under the guidance of the experienced Expedition Team.

New additions include special Summer Solstice cruises, designed around the long days and the unique light of the Alaskan summer. New and returning destinations such as Petersburg and Valdez will be visited, supplemented by scenic cruising along locations like the Chiswell Islands, Holgate Glacier, and College Fjord.

Japan

With 18 departures ranging from 12 to 40 days in both spring (February–April) and autumn (September–December), Seabourn Encore is heavily committed to Japan as a destination. The routes are tailored to iconic moments such as the cherry blossoms and autumn colors, offering access to no fewer than 23 UNESCO World Heritage sites.

New in the offering are routes such as a 16-day cruise between Shanghai and Seoul and a 12-day journey between Shanghai and Taiwan. Additionally, there is a focus on longer stays and more overnight stays in ports, allowing guests to immerse themselves deeper in Japanese culture, gastronomy, and local traditions.

Southeast Asia

The 14-day cruises between Singapore and Hong Kong offer a rich mix of iconic cities and less-visited coastal destinations in five countries, with special attention to culture and gastronomy. Thanks to carefully planned overnights and longer stays, travelers get the chance to experience destinations in the evening as well.

New features include a festive Christmas and New Year’s cruise, a maiden call in Koh Samui (Thailand), and routes that coincide with major cultural events such as Chinese New Year and the Pingxi Sky Lantern Festival in Taiwan. On board, regional cuisine is highlighted through culinary experiences and market visits with the chef.

Mediterranean

Seabourn Ovation explores the Mediterranean from April to December 2028 during more than 50 departures of seven to 12 days. These voyages can be seamlessly combined into longer journeys of up to 37 days. The focus is on smaller, authentic ports and less crowded berths, enabling a deeper cultural and culinary experience. Guests enjoy unique experiences such as Shopping with the Chef and exclusive events like Evening at Ephesus.

New additions include extended stays and later departures in popular destinations such as Athens, Dubrovnik, Valletta, Portofino, Cádiz, Tarragona, and Patmos.

Northern Europe

Between May and September 2028, Seabourn Quest sails 13 routes ranging from 7 to 14 days in Northern Europe. Destinations in the British Isles, Norway, Scandinavia, and the Baltic region are visited. The routes are designed around seasonal highlights and offer a combination of iconic cities and lesser-known ports, with an emphasis on nature, culture, and local gastronomy.

New features include Baltic cruises with departure and arrival in Copenhagen, as well as maiden calls in Bodø and Narvik in Norway. This gives travelers access to more remote and authentic destinations.

Caribbean

In the winter of 2027–2028, Seabourn Ovation and Seabourn Quest set course for the Caribbean with 21 departures ranging from seven to 14 days along 21 islands. The routes emphasize Seabourn’s yacht-like approach, with access to hidden bays and less-known anchorages. One of the highlights is the signature Caviar in the Surf event, where guests enjoy champagne, caviar, and a beach barbecue.

New is a special joint New Year’s celebration on January 1, 2028, where both ships come together at Carambola Beach (St. Kitts) for a unique festive experience.

Canada & New England

During the 2028 autumn season, Seabourn Quest sails four cruises of 12 to 13 days to Canada and New England, perfectly timed for the spectacular autumn foliage. The routes combine charming coastal towns and narrow fjords with a strong focus on local gastronomy and culinary discoveries, including market visits with the chef.

New is the return to Red Bay in Canada, for the first time since 2018, and an extended round trip from Montréal that now lasts 13 days, providing extra time for depth and exploration.
