All aboard: SeaDream Yacht Club, where cruising becomes yachting

When SeaDream Yacht Club launched on September 1, 2001 it was the start of an amazing adventure that would take guests to the world’s most amazing destinations. Over the years the cruise line has received the industry’s highest accolades for its 5-star service.

SeaDream Yacht Club was founded by Atle Brynestad, an entrepreneurial and highly successful Norwegian businessman who had a fascination with ships and the sea, and more specifically with luxury sea holidays. In 1987 he founded Seabourn Cruise Line which merged with Cunard in 1998. Having served as Chairman of Cunard Line Ltd. for two years, he left the company to start his own cruise line: SeaDream Yacht Club.

When designing SeaDream Brynestad focused on attention to detail and all-important impeccable service that would define yachting. ‘It’s Yachting, Not Cruising‘ defines SeaDream’s mission: to provide a casual yachting experience that exceeds guests’ expectations as they explore the world’s most amazing destinations.

SeaDream Yacht Club has received the industry’s highest accolades for its two twin, casually elegant mega-yachts, SeaDream I and SeaDream II. With a maximum of only 56 couples and a 95-person award-winning crew, ‘It’s yachting, not cruising,’ defines not only the size of the vessels, but the onboard lifestyle and anticipatory service.

It’s Yachting, Not Cruising’

The SeaDream yachting experience begins with a warm welcome from the captain with cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, just as if they are welcomed onto their own private luxury yacht. SeaDream’s 5-star service includes an incredible array of services, activities, water toys, dining, wine, premium drinks and gratuities.

All cuisine is prepared à la minute and served al fresco or in the Dining Salon. International menus incorporate local flavors of the region with the freshest, high-quality ingredients often locally sourced. SeaDream also features an extensive Plant-Based & Vegan Menu. A complimentary daily selection of wine pairings is provided at lunch and dinner from the SeaDream cellar, stocked with a varied collection from the Old and New World. An open bar with select premium brands is available throughout the day.

On board guests can lounge by the pool or on SeaDream’s signature Balinese Dream Beds, relax in the Thai-Certified SeaDream Spa, practice their game at a Golf Simulator, visit the Fitness Center or enjoy water sports right off the back of the yacht from the Watersports Marina. By night, music and a lively social atmosphere fill the yachts. The Casino and Piano Bar are popular places for guests to mingle with new friends or they can enjoy an after-dinner cocktail while admiring the breathtaking night views.

SeaDream Yacht Club provides a yachting experience visiting small harbours and ports around the world, many inaccessible by larger ships, on 7 to 15-day voyages. From May through October, SeaDream I and SeaDream II sail the Mediterranean Sea. From November through April, the twin, mega-yachts visit the turquoise waters of the Caribbean.
