Delivery of Enchanted Princess delayed

Princess Cruises has confirmed that the delivery of Enchanted Princess is delayed. A new delivery date has not been determined since the Fincantieri yard in Monfalcone, Italy remains closed. Following the delay in delivery all voyages through July 31 have been cancelled.

The delivery delay of Enchanted Princess is due to the country-wide lockdown imposed by the Italian government and public health officials in response to the COVID-19 outbreak. As the Finacntieri yard in Monfalcone, Italy remains closed, a new delivery date has not been determined.

As a result the naming ceremony scheduled to take place in Southampton on June 30 has amso been cancelled and inaugural activities are under review in conjunction with changes to the ship deployment.

Enchanted Princess is the sister ship to Royal Princess, Regal Princess, Majestic Princess and Sky Princess, which joined the fleet in October 2019.

Enchanted Princess will be an evolution of her sister ships with enhancements, which are also set to feature on Sky Princess, including:

  • Two ‘Sky Suites’, which have the largest balconies at sea and will be centrally located on the top decks. Measuring 1,012 square feet (starboard side Sky Suite) and 947 square feet (port side Sky Suite) the balconies will provide a private vantage of the top deck Movies Under the Stars cinema screen, offer 270-degree panorama views and sleep up to five guests. They will feature two bedrooms, two bathrooms and a dining area with skylight as well as a host of exclusive amenities
  • Princess MedallionClass experience, featuring the complimentary OceanMedallion wearable device, which is the same size as a 10p piece, delivers an entirely new level of service and creates a holiday that is more simple, effortless and personalised with expedited arrival, on-demand services and family and friends locator.
  • New entertainment such as jazz lounge Take Five, a redesigned Vista Lounge and an enhanced Princess Theatre
  • More than 25 dining venues and bars including the World Fresh Marketplace and speciality restaurants La Mer (French bistro), Crown Grill Steakhouse and Sabatini’s Italian Trattoria

  1. July 31? What is your source document for the information? Pres Jan Swartz stated 30 June just yesterday.

    1. It is posted on the Princess website under cancelations.

Enchanted Princess’ sailings in Europe through July 31, 2020; due to the significant impact the COVID-19 outbreak has had on Italy and our shipbuilding partners.

      1. Thanks for the response Carol. Bob, you can indeed find more information on the cancelled cruises by clicking here

        1. We were due to sail on this ship from Southampton in July. It was going to be a dream come true sailing on a brand new ship. Hay ho?.
Is there any indication as to when construction will resume and if so is it likely to be July 2021 before it sets sail on her on her maiden voyage or is that too far into the future? Another question is, would it be feasible for cancelled cruiser’s to have an opportunity to re-book in 2021?
